In 2016 I traveled to New Zealand for the first time. It was the adventure of a lifetime. I had the good fortune to stay with Craig and Jenny Dempster of New Zealand Horn & Antler Safaris. I fulfilled hunting dreams beyond my wildest imagination and fell in love with this family and New Zealand itself. In 2019 I will be part of their team filming clients’ hunting adventures, hunting, and exploring more of New Zealand.

It is one of the only countries in the world where you can hunt almost all species 365 days a year and 24 hours a day, with the exception of waterfowl, which you can hunt three months a year. This has been made possible due to New Zealand being a predator free nation, with ‘Man’ being the only method of controlling numbers.

A large number of our hunts are carried out on our private hunt block, just thirty minutes from our home. This is one of the great benefits of living in such a small country with a population of only 4.5 million (half the size of New York), as we do not have to travel for huge amounts of time to hunt. Our block is a natural landscape, made of mountain ranges, valleys and streams, covered in mountainous scrub and bush but also containing good driving tracks. In addition, they also service as a full service travel agency. As voted by more than 75,000 in the 2016 Travel Awards, New Zealand for the fourth time in a row, has taken the award for the best country in the world.
